A stadium which has been playing host to Fourth Division German football this season will go from that to staging matches involving the world's best. The Zentralstadion was constructed in the last five years after the city council decided Leipzig lacked a top-class sporting venue.
They continue to lack the team to fill it, but the stadium would be a classy home to a classy side. That should be incentive enough for Leipzig, just as Hull have done in England since moving into the KC Stadium, to climb the rungs of the German league. Strikingly similar to Manchester City's Eastlands home, even down to the blue seating.
